West facing, structural clear glazing with exterior fabric roller shades for solar protection that quickly retracts into round, discreet profile along horizontal glazing joints. Computer controlled shading system tied into BMS with manual override.
Built for the University of Toronto with leading edge architecture & design features including Canada’s first ventilated double skin curtainwall on the South elevation. Exterior Venetian blinds are installed between these two curtainwall systems to control glare and capture heat that is either vented to the outside or into the building (depending on season of the year) creating an energy efficient thermal buffer.
